Teeing off later in the day, Bob Johnson and Ian Garske may well have been aware of the challenge ahead but were seemingly unfazed and played exceptional golf, returning to the club house with another 50 Stableford points. A quick countback by course officials and they were declared the winners.
Coming in third place with a very respectable 47 points were Ken Hamilton and Gary Elks and special mention to Christian Nexo who obviously had a good day with his short irons, taking out closest to the pin on the 7th and 11th holes.
Scores were equally as tight in the Ladies comp, with Leisa Meehan and Chris Russell combining perfectly to come home with 41 Stableford points. Hot on their heels with 40 points were Anna Barnier and Kaye McColl, beating Lyn Campbell and Liz O’Hara on a countback.
And on 39 points and in 4th position were partners Carmel Berryman and Kay Nash, narrowly coming in ahead of Kate Dugdale and Pat Moore on a countback.
Special mention goes to Leisa Meehan who carried her form into the Wednesday, winning Ladies Div 1 comp with 33 Stableford points and skiting rights to outdriving Ladies Club Champion Amanda Carr on the 10th!
