Bundarra Central School celebrates 150 years of education this year.
Principal Jennifer Cox said she couldn’t wait to share the anniversary with the community.
“Our motto is small schools have big hearts and bigger opportunities, so we’re able to cater for all children,” she said.
There are 115 students at the school at the moment and the biggest HSC class ever, with 15 students.
The school has come a long way since it opened in 1868, when it was the only school students living in Bundarra could access.
Ms Cox said the school is small but mighty, and the links with the community are strong given it’s so small.
“We’ve been growing, our kindergarten class is bigger and we have a lot more students staying on to do their High School Certificate,” she said.
“We also work with schools in Armidale and Inverell.”
The 150th anniversary will be celebrated on March 31 at the school.
