Safety precautions were taken to protect his injured arm as Taylor took to the field. He finished the game with bowling figures of 5-7.
In the under 12s, Ex-Services took on Walcha who found themselves with only seven players.
Servies players Jack Lockyer, Cooper Collins and Elliott Clarke put their hands up to switch sides and play for Walcha. The game ended in a tight finish.
“The scores ended up being very close and the game was played with great spirit,” Servies junior president Pete Collins said.
“The sportsmanship from the Servies players that changed teams and played quality hard cricket – scoring runs and taking wickets against their own team – was commented on as being the best some people have seen in Armidale cricket, senior or junior in a long time.”
