Dustin Hoffman accused of 'exposing himself' to 16-year-old girl

Dustin Hoffman allegedly exposed himself to a teenage girl in the 1980s, according to a report in Variety.

Playwright Cori Thomas has come forward to accuse the Oscar-winning actor of inappropriate behaviour in a New York hotel room that she says left her traumatised.

Thomas told Varietyshe spent a Sunday afternoon with Hoffman and his daughter Karina, a high school classmate, in downtown Manhattan, visiting a local bookshop and park.

"This was at first one of the greatest days of my life," she told the trade publication. "One of my idols was spending time with me and talking with me respectfully."

The three wound up at Hoffman's hotel room, according to Thomas's version of events, before Karina went to her mother's house - Hoffman was in the midst of a divorce from his first wife, Anne Byrne - to do schoolwork.

The playwright alleges that after they were left alone, Hoffman went to take a shower and returned wearing only a towel which he let drop to the floor.

"He was standing there naked," she told Variety.

"I think I almost collapsed, actually. It was the first time I had ever seen a naked man. I was mortified. I didn't know what to do. And he milked it. He milked the fact that he was naked. He stood there. He took his time."

The actor - who at the time would have been around 50 years old - then reportedly asked Thomas to massage his feet.

"He kept telling me, 'I'm naked, do you want to see?'" she said. "What saved me was that the phone rang, and it was my mother downstairs to pick me up. So I left.

"I was humiliated. My mother always had some instinct that something untoward had happened. She kept asking me, and I was so mortified, I never said anything."

Variety's story also contains fresh allegations from two women accusing Hoffman of assaulting them during their time on the set of 1987 film Ishtar.

The actor's lawyer has called the accusations "defamatory falsehoods".

Last month, Hoffman issued an apology over explosive allegations he sexually harassed a 17-year-old on the set of 1985 TV film Death of a Salesman. Writer Anna Graham Hunter claims the Oscar-winner asked her to give him a foot massage on her first day on set.

"I have the utmost respect for women and feel terrible that anything I might have done could have put her in an uncomfortable situation," Hoffman said in a statement last month. "I am sorry. It is not reflective of who I am."

The allegations recently resulted in a heated argument between Hoffman and comedian John Oliver, who grilled the 80-year-old about the claims during a Q&A session for an anniversary screening of Wag the Dog.
