“She got too close to the sun so I have a bit of colour on my face today,” Captain Starlight said.
“We come into the hospitals to brighten the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children.”
At this year’s Superhero Conference, Captain Starlight met with Santa and Mrs Clause to discuss the Naughty and Nice List.
“I’m actually really good friends with Mrs Clause,” Captain Starlight said.
“Santa Clause is bigger than Broadway – you need to really wait in line.
“But, he has given us the heads up that there’s probably 99 per cent of Australian children on the Nice List this year – and there’s still a chance to get off the Naughty List.”
Doing chores around the house and helping mum and dad are a surefire way to make the switch.
But, it’s important to be good all year round.
Just like the nurses and doctors at Armidale Hospital, Captain Starlight said.
“They’re just amazing, they multitask and do everything from telling jokes, they’re entertainers, they’re cleaners – they’re cool people.
“They do so much amazing work when we’re not able to be here to help.”
Captain Starlight has completed 99 years of training on Planet Starlight to move up the ranks.
And Greater Bank supplies Captain Starlight with the rocket fuel to make it to hospitals in regional towns.
Greater Bank customer service officer Conor MacGregor said the bank has worked with Captain Starlight for a few years.
“It means a lot for us to be able to come out and see them helping kids in our community that are seriously ill,” Mr MacGregor said.
“They put a smile on their face every time and they do it with such professionalism, I think they do such a great job.”
