The past months have been very busy for Armidale Archers. Four members travelled to Penrith in October to contest the State Target Championships.

Ella-rose Carson took on the intermediate recurve division. After the first distance she was well behind but she picked up to finish with bronze. Dennis Carson and Dan Alter contested the veterans division. Dennis finishing first and Dan third. Margaret Carson, competing in her first competition for several years, finished third.
Dennis and Jeffrey Carson competed in the open event on day two. Dennis finished second and Jeffrey fourth.
Dan Alter then travelled to Tasmania to compete in the Australian Masters Championships. He finished in the top 10 in all four events.
Dennis and Margaret Carson travelled to Perth to contest the National Championships. Dennis competed in the Masters Compound Division in three events and also competed in the matchplay. In the FITA 1440 target event Dennis finished fourth. In the field event Dennis finished third and in the Fita 900 event he also finished third. Margaret Carson contested the FITA 900 event. Margaret came a very close second behind Di Cranson from Illawarra.
At the end of the event they both finished with a score of 743. On a countback Di beat Margaret for the gold medal by just one 10. Gerardine Middendorp from Victoria finished just nine points behind to take bronze.
