Guyra are still finding their feet in the top grade after moving from seconds last year but Servies disallowed them any chance at snagging a win.
Servies were sent in to bat by the hosts and the start didn’t go the way as planned as Andy Benetti departed for a duck. Trev Smith left with 15 runs and Servies middle order stepped up.
Nathan Withnell piled on 37 runs, Ben Spence managed 33 and the youngster of the team Benji Marshall top scored with 48.
Leon Clifford and Brad Widders contributed in their side’s total of 203.
Guyra struggled with the bat, losing Troy Martin and Heath Martin cheaply before the rest of the batsmen faltered and were all out for 86.
Shane Wolfenden was the team’s top scorer with 19.
Ex-Services captain John Elliot couldn’t fault his team’s performance.
“It was just continuing on from our win against Easts which gave us a bit of confidence,” he said.
“It was good to see a few batsmen to get some overdue runs. It was good to see us take some time to construct our innings.
“[It was] just good to see some blokes get some reward with the bat for the hard work they have been putting in at the nets.”
Elliot said the time in the field continued from where they left off with the bat.
“Our fielding was top notch, that was probably the best we fielded all year,” he said.
“We didn't drop a catch, didn't give an inch in the field.”
