Porter will take on Warren Tressider at the Detonation 10 tournament.
Tressider will be in his 10th fight, aiming for his third win. In previous bouts the Newcastle boxer has come up against some notable athletes including Quade Cooper.
The man dubbed “The Pitbull” said he is looking forward to the fight which will be part of a massive night of pro boxing with Kyron Dryden, Darkon Drydon, Richard Smith, Blake Minto, Michael Upton, Daniel Ammann and Joel Griffiths all on the card for the event.
“I am fighting a local home town man who is the new NSW cruiser weight state champion,” Porter said.
“He has age weight and experience on me but I’m not bothered at all.
“The Pitbull has been training extremely hard I’m focused and I’m ready to go.
“Ring the bell and let the The Pitbull out, I’m hungry for this fight.”
