Three students from The Armidale School performed in the top one per cent of their cohort in this year’s ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools) Spelling, Writing and English competitions, rewarding them with High Distinctions.

William Jubb (Year 7, Hudson McAllister (Year 8) and Owen Chandler (Year 11) all received their High Distinctions in the English competition.
Hudson also achieved a Distinction in the Writing competition, for those between the top 2 per cent and 8 per cent in each year group.
Fifteen other distinctions were achieved by TAS students across the four competitions, along with 47 credits and 14 merits.
This year TAS entered over 170 students from Years 6-11 in competitions which assess spelling, skills of composition, and reading and language skills in a range of contexts.
All students also received an individual report which highlighted their strengths and offered valuable feedback on their performance and skill base.
