A team of riders from Armidale will wash, plait and prepare for the region’s competitive Pony Club season which gets underway this weekend.

Glen Innes Pony Club will co-host with Inverell in a double header with the Zone 13 campdraft on Saturday. The interclubs will have ring events, showjumping and sporting.
Chief instructor Julie Donnelly said with two days in-a-row of competition, high numbers are expected and the club are running events on the Saturday evening for campers.

“We are more excited that we can have a back-to-back so everyone can come for the one weekend and hopefully it will work so we can continue that,” she said.
“We are going to have a dinner on Saturday night with our Wagyu beef burgers and a drink or a sausage sandwiches and a drink. We are going to have a DJ up there so it should be good.”
The Zone campdraft will commence at 4.30pm and Donnelly said there were plenty of entries.
“We've got 39 entries and we'll have two runs each so close to 80 runs,” she said.
Armidale Horse and Pony Club will host their interclub event on November 19 at the showground.
