Since the devastating news, Armidale has been rallying around the Year 5 Ben Venue Public School student and her family.
To help Hannah and her family with the medical costs, the French Coq in Armidale recently held a fundraiser – collecting $690 for the local cause.
“We introduced coffee into the French Coq three weeks ago … so we thought as a launch we’d offer free coffee for a week and attach a fundraiser to it,” French Coq’s Tillsy Barnier said.
With each free coffee customers could throw in a small donation for the Heart For Hannah charity.
Mrs Barnier said every bit of money will help the family through this difficult time.
“There’s a number of requirements with such a big operation,” she said.
“I believe they are down in Melbourne at the moment waiting for a heart.” If you would like to donate, details are on the Heart For Hannah Facebook page.
