Warriors began the game in fine form, picking up some timely hits and cashing in some errors and walks by part time hurler Ollie Grimble. At the top of the 2nd inning, Warriors had got out to a 6 – 1 lead and it would take a whole team effort for the Outlaws to get back into the game.
Pat O’Connor led the hitting comeback with 3 hits and 2 RBI along with Jason Godwin who battled at the plate for his 2 hits. Singles to Wolfenden, Semple, K. Bird, Peterson and Josh Suhadi saw them score 4 runs in the 2nd and another 2 in the 3rd to get ahead 7 – 6. Jeremy Bird was outstanding in shutting down the Warriors hitters for the final three innings only conceding 4 hits and the solitary walk. He was helped in the last inning by Shane Wolfenden’s lay out catch in left field off a scorching Brendan Allen line drive. Allen had 2 hits for the day along with Isaac Carr and singles to J. Ardill, Lane, Leannda Green and Bodeen Green.
