The Armidale local came back from a tiring World Cup campaign one month ago and is still feeling the effects of a hard year of competition but is on track to return to form in Cairns on September 5-10.
“I am feeling pretty good and I have changed my training a little bit,” she said.
“It has been pretty hard to come back from that, just in the first few weeks but I am slowly feeling more like myself again. I think I should be okay by the time World Champs comes around.”
Harris raced in the elite women’s category in the National Series and World Cup but will be back in the under 23’s division for the Cairns competition.
“I would definitely struggle racing in the elite women and it is also a shorter race so I don't have to do as much endurance training which I don't really like so I am really happy about that,” she said.
“It will be the same girls I have been racing at all the World Cups so it will be a pretty familiar field.”
