It proved to be a case of what could have been this season for East Armidale when they managed to field a full-strength side and delivered a drubbing.

Easts trounced the Joeys in Inverell 11-nil on Saturday and captain Trent Irwin said the side’s potent attack fired in the round 17 game.
“It was nice we were at full strength for a change, that's been one of the disappointing things for us this year, we never seem to have our strongest 11 there at any given week,” he said.
“We just dominated from the outset.
“We scored twice in the first five minutes then Joeys settled into the game and actually played some decent patches of possession.
“It was 3-nil at half-time and then we just came out in the second half and just ran all over them.”
East Armidale are up with the competition’s top attacking teams but Irwin said their defence is what has cost them a spot in the semi-finals.
“We are just letting too many in at the other end which is letting us down,” he said.
“With our attack we are always going to be threatening for any defence but it is just a matter of shutting them out the other end.”
Their opponents this weekend, South Armidale, have also hit some scintillating end-of-season form.
“That will be a good hit out, a bit of a local rivalry between the two teams so I am sure there will be no love lost,” Irwin said.
In the game between Norths United and Oxley Vale Attunga, an Adam Watson-header proved the difference as the Mushies went on to win 1-nil.
