Nine of the side’s regular starters are unable to take the field for Sunday’s semi-final against the Barbarians due to religious beliefs and earlier this week all signs pointed to the side having to forfeit due to the shortage.
Since Tuesday, other players have come forward and said they are ready to lace up the boots for the clash.
Coach Whata Rogers said the additions to the roster came as a welcomed relief to some of the combined side’s senior players.
“It is good that the guys that are able to play, will play,” he said.
“Better than not having a game.
“I am happy there’s going to be a game, it’s a lot better than forfeiting.”
The game isn’t far away and there is limited time for the side to gel together but Rogers is hopeful the team will be able to match it with the in-form Baa Baas.
“Hopefully it’s competitive,” he said.
“We will have another training session and we will just see.
“We are there and anybody can win on the day.
“There are still a lot of good players in the team.
“We will try and bring a physical game, they are always tough so it should be good.”
The winner of the encounter will continue to the next round of the finals to face the loser of the Albies versus Robb clash while the unlucky side will bow out.
Sunday's games start at 11.30am with third grade at Alcatraz.
