The Rams’ ladies league tag side is the club’s most successful this year and with a home game against Moree Boars this Sunday, the team are preparing to celebrate women in the sport with a barbeque from 9am at Rugby League Park.
“We are just organising a little champagne breakfast for all the ladies that are involved in rugby league in the Rams community to recognise all their contributions,” Rams’ coach Kate McCulloch said.
“We have a lot of women that are not playing but are holding the club together too so we want to recognise what they’ve been doing and show our appreciation.
“They’re just as important as the men, without a lot of the women involved off the field, the club wouldn’t be going ahead, moving forward or growing because they do a lot of the behind-the-scenes work.”
All ladies over 18 will receive a free glass of champagne.
