In a rescheduled round six game, a Hugh Jones-goal was the difference between the two sides after 90 minutes.
After losing to East Armidale 5-2 the day before, the Scorpions were eager to redeem themselves.
Despite a few missed opportunities, they managed to hang on and clinch the victory.
“We dominated the ball from the start and knocked it around,” coach James Hough said.
“We probably had 10 more chances than them in the first half.
“We dominated but we just couldn't put it in the net.
“When we got behind against Easts we just put our heads down and gave up a bit which was pretty disappointing but against OVA we just stuck at it and kept going right until the end.”
South Armidale are eager to make it consecutive wins this Saturday when they host Inverell Joeys.
“We are just looking to hold the ball more and then when we get up to the top [we need to] just take our chances,” Hough said.
