THE PRESBYTERIAN Ladies College strings orchestra took on City of Sydney Eisteddfod competition last week.

Director of strings Deidre Rickards said she entered the strings group because they were a good, committed ensemble.

“They also needed to hear a greater variety of string orchestras from other schools,” she said.

PLC sent 18 students that performed two pieces.

They were awarded a Highly Commended, alongside Knox Grammar.
