The round six fixture was set to be a top-of-the-table clash between the two teams and a massive crowd was expected at Moree’s home ground.
The match was postponed on Friday night, much to the disappointment of Narwan fans who were travelling to watch.
“We had players and supporters over there and it wasn't until 7.30pm on the Friday night they said there might be too much rain,” Narwan coach Peter Moran said.
“That was pretty disappointing because I know we were ready for it.
“Their community was very disappointed I was told, they were very downhearted by them calling the game off.”
It has been suggested to play the game during Narwan’s next scheduled bye but the club have dismissed the idea.
We actually put a letter into the Group to say we don't want to play them twice in the second round, we are hoping we can just take a point each,” Moran said.
“We didn't call the game off, they did.
“We have been rivals for years, it is always a good game between us and the 'Rangs and it was a pity the game was called off because we were really looking forward to it.”
