Down 12-4 at halftime, a flurry of points in the second stanza put the Tigers in front 20-18 with just minutes left in the game.
Two minutes from the final siren, the Kangaroos were awarded a penalty in front of the posts and levelled the scores.
The visitors had the chance to take the points in extra time when they took another penalty shot but missed, giving Uralla another chance.
The Tigers made the most of it and travelled up the other end of the field to score in the corner and win the match.
Coach Brett Monley was wrapt with his side’s late comeback.
“We came from behind, that was an amazing effort for our boys,” he said.
“They dug deep and showed a lot of character to stay in the mix.
“Boggabri are a pretty talented side. They depend on their miners and if their miners are there they have a pretty good side.
“They had them all there this weekend so it was a pretty good task for us to win that game.”
The Old Boys crowd got behind the future stars of the club and Monley attributed the spectators to helping his side over the line.
“When it went into extra time there was a lot of booing and carrying on and it was really good,” he said.
“It was one of the best crowds I have seen for a long time there. It was really good to see so many people there.
“I think the crowd helped get us home.”
Monley highlighted the performance of hooker Bryce Johnson in defence, as well as the efforts of Jack Doran and captain Josh Clark to being vital in the win.
The Tigers travel to Werris Creek this Saturday to take on the eighth-placed Magpies, who knocked off Walcha in round nine.
“It is going to be a very physical challenge,” Monley said.
“We need to make sure we are in it from the word 'go' and not give these guys too much of a start because they will throw the ball around and make you pay very easily.”
