My Choice Matters will run a free workshop for people to learn how to get the most out of their individualised plan.
Get More Skills: A Good Life workshop coordinator Tammy Burnstock said it’s about working out goals for life.
“Often people don’t get asked and they don’t ask themselves what it is they want out of life,” Ms Burnstock said.
“We all need different levels of support to get to a good life, it’s a way of freeing up thinking and preparing people, giving them the tools and ideas to get ready.”
The workshop will take an interactive approach, with attendants able to share as much, or as little – as they like.
“Life is a series of choices that you make along the way and they’re very personal,” Ms Burnstock said.
“It’s to expect that people have the right to have meaningful relationships, to have something meaningful to do in their day – something to look forward to.”
The workshop is free to attend and lunch is provided.
Transport can also be provided for those who need it.
It will take place on Thursday May 18 at the Armidale Bowling Club from 10am to 2:30pm.
