Fenwicke touched the wall in 10th place in the national final of the 200 metre breaststroke.
She said she was completely surprised with her 200 metres, thinking she would have more success in the 100 metre event where she finished 19th in Australia, but was very happy with her results.
Hayden finished 14th in the 100 metre butterfly but has the 12th fastest time in the country with three of his competitors touching at the same time in ninth position.
Coach James Harwood is beaming with pride having his two top swimmers achieve these results and said it just shows that if you put in the hard work it pays off.
He believes it is even better the country kids showed the city swimmers they are not disadvantaged by living away from the best facilities.
