A former student of The Armidale School who has served in Afghanistan, Malaysia and Iraq was the special guest at the TAS Anzac Service on Friday.

Corporal Robert Prowse (Royal Australian Engineers), who was a student at TAS from 1998-2005, is currently Initial Employment Training Instructor at the School of Military Engineering, where he completed his own training in May 2008 before being posted to the 2nd Combat Engineer Regiment, Brisbane.
He has twice been deployed on Operation Slipper as a High Risker Searcher in the Uruzgan province of Afghanistan and also served in Malaysia, before returning to Australia in 2013 and the following year taking part in support of Australian security provided to the G20 summit.
In December 2015, Corporal Prowse deployed to Iraq on Operation Okra as a part of Task Group Taji 2.
His role was to instruct the Iraqi Army in basic soldiering before their deployment into the fight against Islamic state.
He was posted to his current position in January this year.
With Anzac Day falling during the school holidays, TAS held its official Anzac Service at 7am on Friday in front of the War Memorial Assembly Hall.
