New England Mountain Bikers continue to put their name on the national stage, this time it was an honour off the trails.

The local club were presented with Mountain Bike Australia’s National Event Organiser of the Year at the Annual Achievement Awards last month for their efforts in hosting rounds three and four of the cross country series held in January at SportUNE.

“Holding the rounds was really special and to be formally recognised by Mountain Biking Australia, just capped off all the positive feedback we received from everyone,” club president Peter Hosking said.

“This couldn’t have occurred without the continued support from UNE, Armidale Regional Council and our local member of parliament, the Honourable Adam Marshall.”

The university trails have also been announced as the venue for the State Championships on November 28.
