Walcha Council’s tourism manager Susie Crawford said Apsley and Tia falls looked “amazing” at the moment.
“People are always more impressed by the falls when there’s been a lot of rain,” Ms Crawford.
Many coastal tourists escaping the wet weather are pulling over to check out the waterfalls as they travelled inland.
“We haven’t had as much rain in the west, so local people might not be aware,” Ms Crawford said.
“The soil profile is full and the rivers are high, so any rain is going to make its way down the falls. They won’t be dry for a while now.”
Further north Wollomombi, Ebor and Dangar falls are also flowing strongly.
