Here’s a round-up of some events being held from Saturday over the next fortnight.
Lantern making and catapult building will keep children busy at Armidale PCYC.
They will be taught how to build a catapult on construction day, April 11.
There will also be a competition to see who can build the tallest and strongest tower from cups.
On Thursday, April 20, children will be taught how to make a poppy lantern to help mark Anzac Day. They will also cook Anzac biscuits and form a poppy wreath.
All activities will take place at the PCYC in Rusden Street, Armidale. For more information, phone 6772 1023.
Art workshops, a smartphone photography forum and a concert by Simon Mellor from the Magic Electricity Box are the order of the day at the New England Regional Art Museum.
The art workshops will be held for young people aged from three to 10 and hosted by Peta Moore; photographer Simon Scott will hold the smartphone photography workshop on April 11.
All activities will be held in the art museum in Kentucky Street, Armidale. For more information, phone 6772 5255.
Green Valley Farm near Tingha is a family owned business open throughout the school holidays, offering fun for children and adults alike.
It’s a great place for a family camping trip, with a children's playground, water slide and hand-reared animals, including a monkey, wombat and deer, all on site.
The main kiosk supplies animal feed for 50c, so children can hand-feed some of the members of the menagerie.
For more information, phone 6723 3370.
A perennial favourite is the Armidale Sport and Recreation Centre, in Mann Street, Armidale.
On a wet day, it’s a good place to keep dry and have fun with tenpin bowling, laser tag and roller skating.
You can book a tenpin and pizza package or book the whole complex for a night.
For more information, phone 6772 8099.
