Walters hit a six in the final over of the match to win the trophy for his side.
Remarkably the Barbarians couldn’t even get the numbers for the first semifinal to qualify for the decider.
"We had a few people fill in for us and get on the park but come the major semifinal we had to forfeit because we didn't have enough numbers,” captain Mick Mather said.
Hillgrove were sent in to bat first and finished at 9-136 from their 40 overs.
The Baa Baas looked strong early on in their run chase but a middle-order collapse had them on shaky ground heading into the final stages of the match.
"We were cruising and then all over a sudden we were nine wickets down and needed 10 runs to win. It came down to the last over and we needed five runs to win and we hit a six on the first ball of the last over so it was great,” Mather said.
