Miller is the son of local swimming coach James Harwood and has been swimming since he was on year old.
The nine-year-old St Mary’s student swam his way to a gold medal in the 50 metre free style and 50 metre backstroke.
His performances at the carnival earned him selection in the Catholic School’s team to compete at NSW All Schools next week.
Miller also earned selection in the all age relay team off the back of his freestyle victory.
"If you win the freestyle for your age group, you go through for the all age relay and if you win that you get to go to the national primary games which is in Adelaide on December 3-10,” he said.
Miller said he swims better at the big carnivals due to having more pressure placed on him and even managed to secure a personal best in freestyle at the Polding event.
"I broke one for my freestyle, I did a two second personal best. I didn't do a pb on my breastroke, I did a few milliseconds off my pb,” he said.
