The presentation was part of their literacy studies, and students completed a workshop that saw them writing letters to the editor on issues that they felt affected the community.
Topics ranged from the need for a jokes page in the newspaper to make it less boring, to parking at the airport and Donald Trump and his alleged failings as president.
Students learned about persuasive and informative text, and how these are used differently in writing news articles and advertising.
More than 70 children took part in the workshop.
The two best letters to the editor from each year group will be published in The Express.
