Armidale catholic schools director Chris Smyth said the workshop was aimed at deepening the understanding of their leaders and teachers.
“It’s about improving teacher practices in the classroom so they can improve student literacy and numeracy.”
Education expert Lyn Sharratt said her strategy used 14 parameters to improve education.
“Number one it’s important to believe all children can learn and all teachers can teach,” she said.
“It’s important to have high expectations and early and ongoing interventions in the classroom.”
Ms Sharratt has worked with 12 diocese in Australia and internationally with schools in Canada, USA, England and Chile.
“Once they understand that teachers can make a difference so all schools can be successful,” Ms Sharratt said.
