Lifesaver Day is an on-campus fair that showcases all the UNE services, clubs and societies, student associations, local businesses and emergency services.
The day is an ideal way for new students to find out more about all the different groups on campus and in their community.
Local businesses, service providers and clubs and societies held stalls and invited the students to get involved.
Students jumped on a mechanical bull, played games on the grass and made the rounds for the abundance of free food.
The Australian Defence Force provided demonstrations and there were live music performances held throughout the day.
The student radio station covered the event live from the courtyard and kept students up-to-date with all the activities on offer.
The UNE Gaming Society invited students to play games on the big screen including Super Smash Bros, Splatoon and Mario Kart.
The New England Regional Art Museum also held a stall and encouraged international students to get involved in their new ambassador program.
NERAM director Robert Heather said it was a great opportunity to help new students settle into the community.
