Five-year-old Armidale boy, Isaac Riches featured in a video Golf Australia posted online, which showed the local lad on the golf course.
“He’s just turned five and already drives the ball up to 115m!,” it says on the website.
“We were lucky enough to spend some time with him at the 2016 Emirates Australian Open, where he buzzed around – chipping, putting and ripping seven-irons – and left us grinning from ear to ear.
“We know he’s a special talent, but it was his enthusiasm, energy and love of golf that made us think he’d be the perfect person to help us show just how much fun golf is for kids. We can’t wait to see how this little man goes from here.”
In response to the video, Day tweeted: “Hey Isaac! Dream big, practice hard but mostly have fun! Look forward to seeing you on @PGATOUR in future.”
Day is the current World Number 1 golfer.
The video is part of My Golf Presents, a program run by Golf Australia to promote the sport, which shows young golfers on the course.
Isaac was born in January 2012 and started playing golf at the age of 18 months.
