They won the Segenhoe Stud Benchmark 65 (2200m) with eight-year-old Kingston Time and later the Pluck @ Vinery Class Two (1600m) with Image Of Love.

In both cases Worley played a waiting game, settling rewards then finishing fast down the centre of the track to swamp the leaders.

“This a big relief,” Grills said.

“I hadn’t won a race since November and I was starting to wonder what I was doing wrong.”

Kingston Time was bought by Grills for just $800 after he had seven runs for Kris Lees as a three-year-old for two minor placings.

Sunday’s win took his tally to 14 wins, 32 minor placing and more than $188,000 in prize money and was compensation for his unplaced run in the Inverell cup on New Year’s Day when the horse had no luck.

Grills will now head back to Armidale and start him in a Benchmark 70 (1900m) on January 24.

“He has been an amazing old horse and we have never had an issue with him apart from stone bruises,” Grills said.

“This is Jodie’s ninth win on him and she deserves every one of them.”

Worley settled him third last to the turn the went to the centre of the track in the straight and worked home to grab the Bill Farrow trained Macmissile near the line and win by half a length.

She adopted a similar style on Image Of Love, letting her drop out then storm home.
