Trainer David Pfieffer and jockey Bobby El-Issa also combined for two wins with the filly Penultimate Star sired out of Magic Albert coasting over the line in dominant fashion.

In just its third run the three-year-old El-Issa said the stable was confident she would progress to metropolitan meetings.

"She's a little filly going places, she's only had a handful of starts and hopefully she keeps improving," he said.

"Pfieffer knows what he's doing so hopefully she improves into a town mare which would be good to see."

El-Issa said he wanted to give Penultimate Star an easy run and let her ability shine through.

"I could have been more handy and been in more of a forward position when I came out in the straight but Dave said not to push her out of her comfort zone and I didn't do that and she won the race," he said.

For the mother-son training partnership of Barbara Joseph and Paul Jones it was a matter of finding the right meeting for race two winner Singled Out.

The Not A Single Doubt mare was entered in three races over the week including the Highway Handicap at Rosehill on Saturday and Goulburn on Friday but Jones said he thought the barrier and field would be ideal for her to be first past the post.

"I thought this was the race she could win so I thankfully pulled the right rein," he said. "You're not always right but it's nice when you are."

"It was great actually because she hadn't had much luck in her first 20 starts so it was good to get it and she's looking promising this time in."
