The FM 100.3 K G Motors junior sports star:
Sahra Dennehy-tennis. She represented NSW at the Federation Cup in Melbourne while the Australian Open was on, she competed in the 9 to 13 years division and won all her singles matches. She was only nine years old at the time.
Talia Constance-Hockey. She helped the NSW under 18 girls win the National under 18 Indoor hockey title.
Scott Magann-Basketball. He helped NSW Country win the Australian Country Junior basketball title.
Turner Lynch-athletics. Turner won three silver medals at the NSW Country track and field titles, and was selected in the Australian regional squad to compete at the Oceania games in Fiji
Madison Moran for Netball. Madison was selected in the Australian Indigenous under 12 Netball squad and competed as a part of that squad at the National titles.
Toby Cooper- Golf won the Moree Junior golf title by seven shots.
Troy Brazier-Horse Sports won the king of the range cross country titles held in Murrurundi.
Maddy Campbell-Athletics. She won the jumps category in the Armidale Athletics super series at just 11 years of age.
Nick Farrer-Cricket. Nick was named the 2015-2016 junior cricket player of the year.
Nathan Czinner-Hockey. He was selected in many state indoor and out door hockey squads in 2016 2017 at National titles.
Stuart Geddes-Athletics. Stuart won four gold medals at the NSW Country track and field titles. He won gold at the NSW All Schools and came third in the National titles.
Mia Emanuel-Hockey. She was selected in various NSW indoor and out door rep squads in 2016 at National titles.
Meg Lye-Hockey. Meg represented NSW at both indoor and out door squads at National titles during 2016.
Katherine Hosking won the under 17 girls National mountain bike title and the NSW under 17 road cycling title and name the 2016 female mountain bike rider of the year.
Alex Grills for Polocrosse. He represented Australia in their mixed under 16 squad that toured South Africa in 2016.
Charlotte Raleigh mainly for Netball but also for Tennis and Football, made the IGSSA squads for all of these sports competing at state titles.
Brianna Sutton-Hockey. She made state squads to play at National Titles, and captained the NSW Bush squad that toured Japan during 2016.
Melanie Frost-Shooting. She won the state two gun Junior title and represented Australian at an International event in Canberra during November
Tyler Carson- Rugby League. Tyler was named in the Combined Catholic Colleges under 16 NSW Country squad.
Billy Youman-Rugby League and Cricket. Billy was named in both the North West rugby League and Cricket squads that competed at State titles
Tyler McCann-Hockey. Tyler was selected in various NSW squads indoor and out door during 2016
Ben Dye-Futsal, Soccer. Ben was selected in the Australian under 18 Futsal Soccer squad that toured England during 2016
Jacob Whitehill-Rugby league. He was selected in the group 19 under 12 rugby league squad and the North West squad that competed at the NSW titles.
Jack Feltham-Mountain Bike. Jack represented Australian at the under 19 boys world mountain bike titles in the Czech Republic.
N’Dea Rumble-Athletics. N’Dea won two bronze medals representing Australian Regional squad at the 2016 Oceania Games in Fiji.
Kelsie Youman-Athletics. Kelsea won several titles and medals at NSW Country titles and won Gold representing Australian Regional in the under 18 ladies 800 metres event at the Oceania Games in Fiji.
Jorja Power-Horse Sports. She was named State champion at the Inter schools state titles also named the 11 to 13 year Junior state champion in her events
Natasha Favotto-Athletics. Natasha won a silver and a bronze medal at the Oceania games in Fiji representing Australian Regional and represented NSW at the National Cross Country Titles.
Lachlan Harris-Futsal Soccer. Represented Australian under 15 and toured Brazil and has been selected again for 2017.
Isabella Hosking-Mountain Bike. Isabella won the under 15 girls National mountain bike title in 2017.
Chelsea Thorton-Hockey. Chelsea was selected in the NSW under 13 hockey squad helping NSW win silver at the National titles.
Sophie Carlon-Horse Sports. She won the NSW reserve Junior Show Jumping title.
Elijah Rasiga- rugby league named the Group 4 under 18 player of the year, and selected in the Combined High Schools under 17 squad to tour New Zealand.
Alana Low-Hockey. Alana helped Breakaways win the womens first division title, and was named as the under 16 hockey player of the year in New England.
Janine Widders Lockwood-Netball. She represented the Australian under 13 Indigenous squad at the National titles.
Shaun Collins-rugby league. Shaun helped the Armidale rams win the group 19 under 10 competition and was also named best and fairest under 10 player in group 19.
Kareena Dawson-cricket. Kareena has been selected in the NSW /ACT under 15 girls squad to play at the National titles.
Oliver Freeman-Athletics. In December last year Oliver won the under 10 National Long Jump title, and in 2016 won the NSW All Schools long jump title jumping 5.01 metres.
Michael Harris-Mountain Bike. Michael won the under 19 mens National title and represented Australia at the World mountain bike titles held in the Czech Republic.
Brianna Graham-Lawn Bowls. Brianna won two National titles representing NSW at the National Junior titles in Adelaide just recently.
2ad Armidale Bowling Clubs senior award:
Nathan Smith-athletics National and State Pentathlon Masters champion, plus collected six gold and a silver medal at the NSW Country track and field titles.
Tim UpJohn-Horseball. Tim was selected in the Australian squad that competed at the 2016 World Horse Ball titles that were held in Portugal.
Mark Conroy-athletics. Mark won a gold and two bronze medals at the NSW Country track and field titles in 2016.
Vanessa Ward-Golf. Won the NET at the NSW Amateur 72 hole stroke titles.
Bronson Macklinshaw-Horse Sports took out the King of the Ranges Stockman’s Challenge held in Murrurindi in 2016.
Tim Murray-Golf. Tim won the Armidale A Grade mens golf title by an amazing 16 shots.
Amanda Carr- Golf. She won her fifth Armidale division one women’s title.
Holly Harris-Mountain Bike. Holly was the under 23 National mountain bike champion, represented Australian under 23 at various events in Europe including the under 23 women’s world cup in the Czech republic.
David Waugh-athletics. He took out the 100 km Ultra solo marathon at Oak Hampton Heights.
Margie Davis represented NSW at National titles and Australia Gold at the 2016 World Cup held in Canberra.
Todd Francis-Cricket. Todd was named the Armidale senior cricketer of the year also took out the A grade batting average and aggregate also the bowling average.
Carolyn Beresford-Hockey. Carolyn represented NSW at National titles, selected in the Australian Gold squad for the World Cup and recently named in the Australian over 50 womens squad to play at next years Trans Tasman Cup Series.
Stuart Houghton-Archery. Stuart won the world recurve bow hunter archery title beating 46 other competitors for this title.
Katrina Rekunow-hockey. Katrina represented NSW under 21’s at National titles and various other state squads.
Luke O’Donoghue-athletics. Luke represented Australian in the 200 and 400 metres at the Oceania games held in Fiji in 2016.
Oliver Bartlett-rugby union. He represented NSW Country open’s squad.
Keith Ellis-Hockey. Keith represented NSW at National titles, and helped the Australian over 70 years masters men’s squad win the world cup in Newcastle 2016.
Cyndy Slade-Hockey. She represented NSW at National titles, helped Australia win the over 50 masters women’s world cup and recently named in the Australian over 50 women’s squad to compete at next years Trans Tasman Series.
Charlie French-rugby union. Charlie was selected in the open NSW Country squad.
Andrew Myhill-Hockey. He was selected in the NSW over 50 men’s masters squad to compete at the National titles in Adelaide during 2016.
Joy Harrison-shooting. Joy was selected in the Australian world rimfire shooting team to shoot at the world cup in Portugal, came ninth overall but was the leading female competitor.
Sarah Parker-Hockey. Sarah represented NSW Country at the National Country titles helping NSW win the gold medal.
Diane Houghton- Archery. Diane came third at National titles and took out the Northern NSW titles in her division during 2016.
Angela Dean-Hockey represented NSW at National titles and named in the Australian Gold squad that competed at the 2016 Masters over 50 women’s world cup.
Kerrie Fittler-lawn bowls is the 2016 ladies single lawn bowls champion at the Armidale Ex-Services club.
Cali Winsor- Baseball. Cali was selected in the NSW womens squad to play at the next years National titles.
Mal Ahoy-Lawn Bowls. Mal was the 2016 men’s singles champion at the Armidale Ex Services Club.
Robin Diebold-Hockey. Robin was selected in the NSW over 50 masters mens hockey squad that competed at the national titles in Adelaide in 2016.
Hayley Ford-Oz Tag selected in the Australian Indigenous Oz Tag squad to tour New Zealand.
Jed Ellis Cluff-AFL. Jed was named the joint 2016 player of the year, and was the competition’s leading gold scorer.
Rod Chetwyn- lawn bowls. Rod took out the Armidale Bowling Clubs 2016 men’s major singles title.
Kyle Goodwin-Lawn Bowls. Kyle took out the Zone three champion of Champions which qualified him for the 2016 State titles.
Diane Bell-Ten Pin Bowling. Diane took out the state title in her division of the special Olympics Ten Pin Bowling titles.
Chloe Hampton-Hockey. She helped Breakaways win division one women’s title and named the New England under 21 goalie of the year.
Jason Latham-rugby league. Jason won the Walcha Roos best and fairest player of the year
Dave Richards-AFL. He was named player of the grand final as he helped the New England Nomads win their firth title in a row kicking a staggering ten goals in the grand final.
Robyn Broadbent- League Tag. Robyn was named the Walcha’s plate league tag champions players player and their best and fairest for 2016.
Colin MacIver-Cycling. Colin won his division of the National masters men’s cycling winning two gold and a silver medal.
Jay Stone- athletics. Jay represented Australia at the 2016 world masters event in Perth.
