The Workshop will be held at Uralla Central School Hall commencing at 5.30pm, Wednesday, November 2.
Z-NET Uralla Coordinator Stephen Griffith said Uralla was selected as the New England Region has a high uptake of small scale renewable solar systems.
“Uralla is also a central location for residents in Armidale, Tamworth and Inverell,” he said.
The Workshop will provide information to homes and business premises currently receiving a 60c or 20c subsidised feed-in tariff about what is going to happen, plus information to understand how they can maximise benefits from their small scale renewable energy systems after the Solar Bonus Scheme ends on December 31.
“At the workshop an independent energy expert will explain how the changes to the feed-in tariff will affect solar owners, and what they need to do in the lead up to the closure and the important steps they need to take,” Mr Griffith said.
The Energy Opportunity Workshop will also cover a range of clean energy opportunities, including:
How to understand the different metering arrangements (i.e. gross and net) and the benefits;
The emerging technologies to consider including battery storage and energy monitoring devices;
Ways you can become more energy efficient to minimise household electricity bills and more
