On Saturday the junior, masters and veteran divisions were contested. Ella-rose Carson competed in her first tournament contesting the Cub girls recurve division.  She started the event nervously but continued improving at each distance finishing the event with a very creditable personal best score of 1082 in second place.  

Dan Alter contested the Veteran compound division and finished with a bronze medal. The Masters division saw Dennis Carson once again competing against his arch rival Brian Politis with Brian winning the day with a score of 1373 and Dennis second on 1365.

The Open event was held on Sunday in which both Dennis and Jeffrey Carson competed. A very tough competition tested the endurance of archers both mentally and physically.

Once again Dennis and Brian competed fiercely. Also closely contesting this event were Australian Paralympian Jonathon Milne, current National champion Scott Buscombe and Jeffrey Carson.

The final scores saw Dennis turn the tables on Brian taking the gold medal on a score of 1335 just one point ahead of Jonathon Milne and Brian Politis taking the bronze medal on 1325 from Scott Buscombe on 1323 and Jeffrey  on 1315.  On the local scene Armidale archers are now holding twilight shooting on a Wednesday evening from 4.30pm until dark and club day is every Sunday from 9am.  

A  Come ‘N’ Try day is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 12 at Rugby League Park from 11am at a cost of $5.  The club also received funding to improve the road to the range.  With this improvement the facilities at the Archery Reserve will be rated as one of the best in regional Australia.  

The Club has applied to host the 2017 State Field Championships in September or October next year and with the road improvement and the newly completed toilet facilities are quite confident this tender will be accepted.
