Transporter trucks and cars made their way up William Street, watched by a big crowd in which fans craned to see their favourite drivers.
Leslee Gay, in Bathurst for her eighth Race Week, and a group of 10, made up of friends and family, travelled from the North Coast town of Ballina.
“We camp on top of the Mountain and we love it each year,” Ms Gay said.
Katherine Palma, who has lived back in Bathurst for four years now, said the parade is a great event for the city and for the children.
“It’s quite an exciting time for the town and it is a good way to celebrate the start of the week,” Ms Palma said.
The transporter parade is even popular with long-term locals, including Cassandra Jones, who has lived in Bathurst for 12 years.
“I really like the atmosphere and it is nice that kids can do something during the holidays,” Ms Jones said.
