Police were patrolling the Armidale CBD area about 5.45pm on Thursday night when they stopped a small hatchback for a random breath test at the intersection of Markham and Beady Streets.
A 26-year-old woman was allegedly behind the wheel at the time and checks revealed she was driving without a current licence.
“A 26-year-old woman was charged with driving whilst suspended,” New England Detective Inspector Ann Joy told Fairfax Media.
“She was arrested and has been granted conditional bail to front Armidale Local Court at a later date.”
Police said several occupants were searched during the car stop, with extra police called to assist.
“There were four occupants in the car and they were all stopped and searched by police,” Detective Inspector Joy said.
“We’ve seized some other property from the vehicle and that is subject to further investigation.”
