Representatives of BIG W head office have denied the hearsay.

“It's business as usual for our BIG W store in Armidale Central. We look forward to serving our loyal customers and delivering unbeatable prices the same as we do every week,” a spokesman for BIG W said.

The store manager in Armidale had much the same to say.

“The rumours are completely false,” he said.
