Youth fencer Ambert Leitner claimed gold at the regional novice competition recently.
Fencing coach Terry Watts said there are lessons throughout the week with people of all ages joining in.
"There's the University of New England's fencing association and we are also looking at putting in a purpose-built facility if it continues to grow at the rate that it does,” he said.
"Sunday is the lesson where it is an all-in lesson, it is a mixed class.
"That promotes a lot of positive social behaviours across all age groups.
"Both myself and Matt Shirley are staff members at the PCYC.
"We both love fencing and I was coaching it and he was one of my first students and Amber was one of the first junior members to join.”
