Opening on Friday night, the New England Illustration Prize featured a variety of works interpreted from a poem by local author Sophie Masson.
The show is a collection of entries submitted by local illustrators young and old, with organiser Peter Creamer of Little Pink Dog Books saying the goal was to recognise an overlooked artform.
“We’re really pleased with the response,” he said.
“The concept and the uniqueness of the event – there aren’t many competitions about illustration.
“We had a fabulous range from wool textiles to ceramics to watercolours – it was a whole range of illustrational styles.”
Friday night saw the presentation of awards to prize wining artists.
First prize went to Simone Hale, Alison Graham took out the second place and Ann Henderson’s work won third prize.
Grace Knuckey won the youth award.
The works will be on display at Gallery 126 until the end of the week.
