Training under Brazilian born Felipe Faria, 21 competitors headed north to fight it out against the best.
The athletes came home with nine gold medals, 13 silver and three bronze.
Faria started teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Armidale two years ago at the PCYC and was thrilled with seeing the hard work his students have put into their training pay off.
“I used to compete a lot in Brazil and I am a lot more excited about seeing my students compete now rather competing myself,” he said.
“It is very rewarding to see the results of the hard work we have put in.”
