Armidale has many teams and competitions for all ages which encourage people of all abilities to get involved with the sport.
Residents across the north west of the state have the opportunity to shine the light on individuals, clubs and associations who foster that supportive environment by nominating them for the 2016 Australia Post One Netball Community awards.
Australian Diamonds’ player Clare McMeniman said the Awards are a great way to recognize those who use the power of the game to create a safe, inclusive and fun environment for all.
“Since the Awards’ inception in 2014, we’ve uncovered many inspiring stories of inclusion champions who go out of their way to build more welcoming netball communities,” she said.
“We’re on the lookout for passionate inclusion advocates both on and off the court – from coaches and umpires to players, parents and volunteers - who work tirelessly to connect people in their local neighbourhoods to our great game.
“So if you know an individual, Club or Association in North West NSW who has worked hard to drive or nurture an open and inclusive environment through netball, we encourage you to go online and nominate them now.”
Nominations for the Australia Post One Netball Community Awards are now open and close on Sunday, July 31 with the winners announced on Monday, August 29.
