Tilbuster Station manager Charlie Winter said it was a wonderful initiative for the youths to see firsthand from the planting to the distribution.
“It’s an incredible experience for the young people,” Mr Winter said.
“I think we will feed more than 1000 people who are needy or in need of assistance for food as well; it is good quality food.
“This is our third annual pumpkin run and we are getting bigger and bigger every year.”
The group will be travelling more than 600 kilometres from Armidale down to Sydney to share more than five tonnes of pumpkin and feeding the needy.
“We have left about three tonnes worth of pumpkin over for a regional pumpkin run around here,” Mr Winter said.
