A PANCAKE breakfast and a fun run had this year’s Autumn Festival off to a flying start.
The festivities continued with Armidale Pipe Band putting on quite a show in Beardy Street Mall, joined by other regional pipe bands from Tamworth and Grafton.
City residents were spoilt for choice with market stalls and rides down in Civic and Curtis Parks.
The Day family attend the Autumn Festival every year, and said it is hard to pick one favourite from the weekend’s events.
“We keep coming back because the whole atmosphere of the festival is so great,” Tanya Day said.
The festival was a first for couple Bruce and Margaret Sedden.
The couple from Orange gave the market stalls and rides the thumps up.
"We're here with the Lachlan Valley Caravan Club as part of one of their monthly meets and we are enjoying ourselves greatly so far," Mr Sedden said.
Members of the Classic and Specialist Car Club of Northern NSW had their best cars on show as part of the festival.
X-Factor finalist and Saturday night’s star entertainment Micheala Baranov was also out taking in the sights from the festival in Beardy Street Mall.
She said she was excited for the chance to meet some of her supporters.
“It’s good to be here and I’m excited to meet my fans from Armidale who have supported me,” she said.

Later in the day the parade had the crowd enthralled, with nearly 60 stalls snaking their way through Armidale's CBD.
High points of the parade included classic cars and participation from the city's schools.
