If Spec’s Valley already had one paw on the $2500 Armidale Greyhound Cup after her stunning heat win last weekend, she might have a second planted on there after the box draw was announced on Tuesday.

Armidale Greyhound Club’s Barry Mitchell anointed the Albert Zarb-trained runner a clear favourite after a blistering performance in the heats and seeing the box draw didn’t do anything to dim his prediction.
“Spec’s Valley has drawn the two hole,” Mitchell said.
“She’s going to be very hard to beat.
“The two others that I thought were chances of beating it have drawn wider.”
Mitchell picked Garry Streatfield’s Kay Oh, who starts from box three, as the best chance to knock off Spec’s Valley.
“If Spec’s Valley has any weakness, Kay Oh will be the one to run it down,” he said.
Betting for the Mitchell Family Sprint Series Final is also expected to be dominated by one greyhound.
Cosmic Taleya was superb in its heat win a fortnight ago and is Mitchell’s tip tomorrow.
“The three dog will start favourite and be very hard to beat,” he said.
Mitchell is tipping the Fifth Grade 1-4 Wins Final to be a more open betting affair.
“China Hofman is a brilliant box dog,” he said. “He’ll be the leader and three [Little Sunshine] or four [Grumpy Luppy] might be able to chase him down.”
The Tex Munford Maiden Final is also expected to be wide open, with Emerald Drive and Wooster expected to fight for favouritism, but Mitchell said finding the winner would be difficult.
“The two dogs that won the heats, I’d say, will start at around $3,” he said.
“But I really don’t know what will win that.”
First race tomorrow begins at 1pm, with the cup set down for 3.35pm.
