The annual picnic, hosted by Alliance Francaise Armidale, kicks off the organisation’s year of classes and monthly social gatherings.
“It’s our first event for the year,” President Lyn Gollan said.
“It’s a picnic out at Dumaresq Dam and it is just a good way for everyone to come together, they don’t have to be members of the alliance.” The day will start from 11.30am, weather permitting.
“We usually bring food and sit around and share it while getting to know each other.
“We invite all our class members so it is a chance to meet socially as well.”
A highlight of the day is games of boules, a French form of lawn bowls played on rough ground.
“Any prospective members can join in and come along-they can learn to play boules if nothing else,” secretary William Nash said.
The day’s events will start from 11.30am, weather permitting.
