FOR SOME, the idea of rising early on a Sunday to run sounds like a form of torture, but for five teenagers and their teacher, it’s a jolly holiday.

O’Connor Catholic College teacher Eli Simpson and her students will be travelling to Sydney to take on such a feat - and they are actually looking forward to it.
Mrs Simpson said it was an exciting challenge for her and the five brave students, who were looking to push themselves physically as well as doing their bit for a worthy cause on Sunday, August 9.
“It’s a 14 kilometre race from the Sydney central business district to Bondi Beach,” she said.
“It’s a charity run – so it’s for any charity you choose.
“We chose the St Vincent de Paul Society.
“And we hopefully will meet our target.”
While not all of the parents, teachers and students are putting their bodies on the line, the school community definitely have not been shy in been putting their money on the line.
“The donations have just been streaming in,” Ms Simpson said.
