The Rams were forced to travel to Moree and Inverell in the past fortnight to face the two top teams in the competition.
While they performed admirably in both games, the Rams were soundly beaten and the defeats have dropped them into a three-way battle for the last semi-final spot.
The Rams will host a struggling Guyra side tomorrow, but Armidale Terry Carson has warned his troops about taking the Super Spuds lightly again.
Two late tries saved the Rams from an embarrassing loss the first time the two sides met this season.
“We will have to turn up and play well to beat them,” Carson said.
“They are a really enthusiastic side.
“Last time they turned up and had a crack and we
didn’t.”
Carson said it will be nice to be back at home after the treacherous two weeks on the road.
“We put a lot into those last two games so it’s going to be nice to have a bit of an easier one,” he said.
Armidale can go along way to sealing the final semi-
final spot with a win over Guyra.
The two sides Armidale are battling for fourth with, Glen Innes and Ashford, face tough assignments against the Boomerangs and Inverell respectively tomorrow.
“A win should see us take a bit of a lead in fourth,” Carson said.
After a blistering attacking display against Glen Innes three weeks ago, the Rams have hit a try-scoring rut in the last fortnight.
“Our attack has been a bit clunky,” Carson said.
“We need to use tomorrow to get it back on track.”
Lock Steve Widders, pictured left with Mikey Ware, and props Apakuki Mate and Semi Rawara are all expected to return to the line-up after missing the Rams defeat to Inverell last Saturday.
However they could be missing English imports Jordan Wakefield and Kenny Lang who both picked up injuries in the loss.
Tomorrow will be a huge day of football at Blush Tomatoes Rugby League Park, with the Armidale Junior Rams also at home to Guyra.
